Mr Mahmoud Tolba is an experienced Consultant Gynaecologist. He has specialised in Infertility and endoscopic surgery since 1994.
After completing his UK training, he has worked overseas in many countries including Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Cayman Islands.
He was recruited by the Egyptian Government in November 2000 to establish an IVF unit in Cairo and appointed as a Medical Director of that unit until 2006. “GALAA Assisted Reproduction & IVF Unit” (GARU), is the first governmental human assisted reproduction unit in Egypt, serving the whole infertile population in the country and provides all aspects of IVF treatment and laparoscopic/hysteroscopic reconstructive surgery for infertile women.
He has trained many doctors on IVF techniques locally and from the Golf Countries.
He represented the Egyptian Secretary of State for Health at the WHO’s PCC meeting held in Geneva 21-22 June 2001.
In September 2001 he participated in the WHO’s Expert Meeting on Medical, Social and Ethical Aspects of Assisted Reproduction (ART), held in Geneva 17-21 September 2007.
Subsequently, the Human Reproductive Health & Research Department published the book “Current Practice & Controversies in Assisted Reproductive Technology “as a report from the meeting.
He joined HSFC in January 2007.
